Why can't the white pawn on c3 capture the black horse on d4?

The pawn is pinned by the bishop on a5.

It is an illegal move as if you take the knight with that pawn you would leave your king in check which is not allowed. That is why c3 pawn is pinned to the king and can't capture the knight.
