Black goes first variant?

Is there a "black goes first" variant? And would it make much difference?

I've been wondering why the rules are as such that white always goes first, and then we swap colors. Why not also have black-goes-first as an option?

It would not produce "different games". It would only produce games with coordinates inverted.

It would not produce different games. Also, the reason for black going first is quite interesting. Basically, (from what I have heard, correct me if I am wrong!) black was considered a lucky color back then. Having the first move AND the lucky color would just be unfair, so to balance it out, they made white go first.
