Chess Art

I already posted this elsewhere but the mod suggested here would be a better place.

A while ago I had some fun creating this (artsy)piece and made a canvas version of it.
For those who wonder, yes there is a message hidden in it and yes it's also a reason the king isn't present. I'm also working on different color schemes and maybe make some posters of it....

Is it a good idea to make some sort of forum category called Chess - graphic for example. (to show or share) items like this for the more creative chess players amongst us? (or is this the right place to do so?)

Here are 2 designs and the result hanging at my office wall. If you would love one of these then give me a PM.

Nice! I definitely prefer the blue color scheme.

I have seen a thread somewhere with loads of chess art - mostly by one person - but I can't remember in which forum. I'll report here when I see it again.

would be nice, I have searched myself but wasn't much to find. since the response is low I also think the Chess audience isn't much into this.

Ah, it's just a bit a lower in this forum. In spite of the funny topic name there is some good content in it. And it's lóóóóóóóng.

Hi Kate, well it's partial reflecting current time(views) and religeous (or the abscence of it)

- You have the largest piece, the queen standing on the left. A bit of a reference to the new wave of feminism. The lack of woman rights in some country, or the abuse of 'rights' or misleading feminism in other country's (so called pink tax, some #metoo double standards, etc). That's why she's dominant but only half visible.

- A pawn centered in a circle, untouched and there also 8 offcourse smaller circles in different forms. Respresenting the common people and the importance of every individual, a community.

- The bishop has fallen and has 2 faces-colors. Referencing to abuse in of children in the church (religion) where priest, pasters, bishops have been exposed of their hypocrisy or 2 faces. Smaller circle in the bishop with 2 faces respresents the victems who some for many years had lead a double live. Conflicted with religeon an their abuse.

- the rook/tower is a symbol of fortress, defence. Left is a beam going from bottom towards the bishop. To defend us from more of these practices. Defend children. Also therefor is a circle/child at the base of the rook. It should be our primary concern.

- the horse/knight centered and of importance that it can 'jump' leap to places no other piece can representing knowledge (or science) I think it's upmost importance to support science, to keep searching for solutions and answers. Not creationism, or in many occasions where religion blocked / refuted discovery's. Progress in the vorm of some moral standards like being against gay marriage, abortion. Etc.

- Also a bar goes from left/queen over the knight to the rook. Where feminism should take a leap (progress) to defend the rights where it's needed. Where young girls need to marry old men, or getting mutilated. And not advocating so called pink taxes or some who believe saying Hi is a form of harrasement. (not generalising, the vast majority aren't but just saying that those woman who are extreme feminist to come up for rights in country's where those woman -really- need rights)

- The absence of the King, comes a bit with the theme in general as where. Knowing many here are religeous I'm not. As an Atheïst I don't believe in a (not any) god. Because a god is also often referred to als the king, the allmighty. Not for me thanks. Plus I'm also not fond of current Kings who just have an inheratage of a certain bloodline but nothing else that makes them special. (at least for me)

There are some other smaller references. Not of importance.
Also, nothing refers as as reference to my personal life except from the part being an Atheïst.

... ps: pardon grammer mistakes. Not my native language. I corrected a few errors but proofreading takes up to much time :-)

Thanks, it indeed is very long! 155pages ... but I already saw some funny quotes, cartoons and yes a few artworks that could be of inspiration.
