This hasn't come out as smoothly as I had hoped - the formatting goes all wonky when I try to post any tables here.  Regardless, the basics get across.

Sicilian dragon? Greek gift? Middlegame? Windmil tactic? Touchmove rule? Are you trying to say something?

He is trying to say:

Sicilian dragon, greek gift, middlegame, windmill tactic, touch-move rule.

whirlwind2011

K is "mate in five," right?

"Dingbats" are just where you do the clip art version of "charades" to spell out a term without saying it.  Just fun, man.  And its not "tactic" - its A tack...Attack

bjazz

Board control, pawnchain... Something about check, defence and draw. I give up

Crazychessplaya

"Family check"? "Fischer time"?

Here_Is_Plenty

Close, crazy.  Not time though.

Ohh, Fischer clock?

And "family check" doesn't seem right.

I dont know if its different outside UK but a family check is where a knight forks king, queen and rook

a) family check; b) middlegame; c) touch move rule; d) the french defence; e) pawn chain; f) board control; g) windmill attack; h) greek gift; i) sicilian dragon; k) mate in five

still working on j and l.

whirlwind2011

@Here_Is_Plenty: Ah, I understand. That's what I thought of first, but I learned it as "family fork," so that kept me puzzled.

dashkee94

j) fischer clock; l) draw by repetition

 well done....should have said "First!"

dashkee94

OK, then; FIRST!  Thanks.

TheGrobe

A) Family Check

B) Middlegame

C) Touch Move Rule

D) ?

E) Pawn Chain

F) ?

G) Windmill Tactic

H) Greek Gift

I) Sicilian Dragon

J) Fischer Clock

K) Mate in Five

L) Draw On Repetition

Couldn't get D or F.  I think D is Red ______ Defense, but nothing clicked.  F looks like "Board Changer", but again, it's a relatively unfamiliar term to me.
