Chess Humor 101 (Moving the Pieces)

I'm one of the people that have to adjust the pieces too... lol it kills me to see a piece hanging half way off the square. I can't tell where the dang thing is supposed to be at!

When I'm really sleepy I get into the nudging mood. But usually I'm one who "slams" the pieces in a nice mood. lol

We have a player at our club who is a classic "suggester".... nudges every piece and... is very polite. I have not seen him though for a long while.

I tend to hit the button on a clock rather forcefully as well. I figure fast and precise movements with a nice "click" can win me a psychological edge.

I had an opponent who did that at a St Pete tourny G/30, but was way more forceful. One such blow knocked the poor clock to the floor...lol. It was an analog so didn't break, but that was the last straw for the TD. He was told to "cool it".

lol Well... granted I've never been THAT harsh! =D
But I have scared some freshman in the chess club before by playing like that.

Freshmen deserve it...lol

how do you insert illegal moves into the game editor?
lol.. that's what I'd like to know. i asked but he hasn't responded back yet.

lol When you go to make a game to edit, just type in the illegal moves with the correct chess algebraic notation.

Jenubis... I can always count on you.
I play totally normally over the board, except sometimes. Once in a while, there is a move I "slam". Generally the move from where he cannot escape from a tactic he fell into. Those moves I either slam or apologize with a smile. Part of trashtalk I suppose.
The other thing I do (I don't know if you guys do it or not, but it was quite common around me at that time) is that when I eat one of my opponent's piece I first take it, then with his piece in hand I come to my hungry piece and take it to the square, letting the pieces make a (little) noise when they are both in the same hand.

My chess playing friend, who is in his seventies, does something very childish. When he is losing his way of resigning is to either; knock all his pieces over with his hand or he will pick up handfuls of pieces and throw them back into the box. Once in a while he even picks up a piece like he is going to throw it at me. This is the main reason I quit inviting him to go to the chess club.

However, the one illegal move the editor truly dissalows is the promotion of a pawn into a king.
As it should be. The social classes must be held in check.

I have a student.. thats kinda like that. Absolutely hates to lose.. very intense. Last year, at one tournament he lost the first round.. a game he had been dominating... and stormed out of the playing hall. When I ran into him, he was looking for his mom... and wanted to go home. He said, "Im done" and proceeded to his moms car. Inside his moms car, very angery, I had to use every skill I could muster as a coach to get him to even in consider playing in the second round. Walking away from the car I wasnt sure I had succeded, but when I checked the playing hall.. there he was. He ended up winning 4 straight finishing 4-1 and a 5th place trophy. More importantly... those four wins gave the team the win... 1st place. It was a great life lesson for him.. dont quit. i still have that 5th place trophy in class as a "reminder".
I imagine it can be irritating if your opponent moved his pieces like this:
LOL... yea... that would be annoying. how did you do that on the computer?
The OP actually talks about the peculiar ways we physically move chess pieces with part one being about "The Suggestion". Give it a read if you havent already.
It's ironic that the title is "Chess Humor 101" but you don't seem to have any...
ouch!...:(
