I've got an idea for boss battles, or MvP:
The bosses can be highly powerful chess engines, and 5/8 players need to form a party/guild. When 5 players are in a group, each one controls a type of piece, and their pawn. When 8 players are in a group, each one controls one piece, and their pawn. The comp has unlimited time, while the players get one hour to defeat the computer. They can discuss with each other to play the best move.
Also, each boss can be guarded by a couple of minibosses, which are also powerful, but how they work is like this:
1. Each party member gets a puzzle to solve, it's toughness proportional to the toughness of the boss.
2. If one cannot solve the puzzle within the given time limit, they need to win a blitz game against the miniboss(controlled by the computer) themselves, not helped by other party members.
On defeating the boss, all members get points, and items related to the boss, like a dragon-shaped knight piece which they can flaunt around, or a shining golden cross to customize their king with, etc. We can also have customizable pieces, with base, body, and crown all in different colors and textures. That would be awesome :)
I know it hasn't been a week, but...I tend to forget good ideas.
Sorry to those few who are looking for part 2 on my blog...
Anyway, I said I'd tell you about my PvP ideas for the chess RPG, well, here they are:
The 2 teams (maybe bishops and knights) will wear a hat or a head piece with the chess piece on it, so that others can identify which team they are in.
If you've ever played Regnum Online, you'll understand it when I say that in the PvP 'zone' there will be 6 different 'masters.' The could be:
Bishops: Attack master, defensive master, openings master.
Knights: Attack master, defensive master, openings master.
Each team will have 3 boards to start with, and they can be 'captured' by beating the masters + players from the other team. This is similar to vote chess; only that one side will have master help.
So when a team has all 6 'boards' that team can challenge the Grandmaster of the opposing team + players (eg. Knights have all the boards, therefore they can play a match between, just as a figure, 200 human players and the Grandmaster.
Each side will have 60 seconds to make their move, or the normal timing system, with the grandmaster's vote and the player's vote displayed. The side will then pick one of the 2 moves.
If a team beats the Grandmaster, the whole team that played will be given a reward (Rewards in part 3 soon), the boards will reset, and the game will go on.
If a side attepts the Grandmaster game, but loses, the boards will reset also.
Also, whenever a side wins the grandmaster match, a stat will be recorded on the website.
Okay, so that's the PvP side of things, but in a few days time, I'll tell you about my ideas for rewards.
Also, if you missed out on part 1, just visit my blog.
Cheers!!
I love feedback.
PS: Can anyone spot what major detail I've left out?????
