Do you guys wear pants when you play chess?

I rarely do; usually only when mandated by state or local law. I've found that this freedom allows me to take all of that extra time and energy I waste while thinking about my pants and funnel it towards my chess moves. And those moves are quite grand in their splendor, as I have recently increased my FIDE rating to 7.

I cannot be the only one who refuses to wear pants while playing chess. Any other Horsemasters go this route?

Only because this court order obligates me to.

Not always. Sometimes I wear skirts Smile

Do the basketball shorts from the 80s count as pants?

UncleChessy

If they are the short kind that Larry Bird used to wear, then I think you just may be considered pantsless.

I think one of these days I may play in full chainmail while dressing my knight up like a real person.

I take off my entire fantastic four uniform before I play e4...Wink

No, no pants - they obstruct mating with the queen.

blade123

Is there any other way to play chess?

Conflagration_Planet

That's fine as long as you remember to wear your safty helmet, and thick, heavy gloves.

I go commando 9 months of the year, but I guess you're referring to 'trousers' - if so, me is firmly committed to Levis Smile

I have big windows, so the answer is obviously, no, no I don't.

Fookatook

My pants wear me.

Obviously not. Playing chess near an open flame? WITH HAND-CRAFTED WOODEN PIECES?!?!?! That's a recipe for disaster, along with two cups of crushed almonds and an oven preheated to 450 degrees F.

In Wales according to Druidic lore we wear the holy robes when we play the sacred game.

This consists of a sheep carcass thrown casually over the shoulders and nothing else.

A person's standing in Welsh society is determined according to the length of aging of the carcass.  Essentially to more well hung the better.

This guy is right.  Putting almonds in an oven heated over 350F is a disastrous idea, and crushing them first doesn't help anyone.
