Yeah, I tried introducing chess to my friends and housemates in my freshman year. By the end of my first semester I was threatened to be ostracised from the dorm for being a nerd! yeah thanks but no thanks. Pretty much everyone who was fascinated at first got bored after 3-5 games and thought that football and even soccer was a much better option to kill time. Hell even 'foosball' was considered a much better alternative!..and of course video games ruled the whole college circuit anyway. Needless to say I stuck with the game but never mentioned it to others. I myself am amazed as to what made me stick to it. Maybe a rethinking of priorities is needed?

Chess is a very strategic and challenging game. At first , chess might seem hard and boring game. Thats what I thought when I started playing, but once you learn the basics, it turns out to be very fun and satisfying game. I strongly encourge for anyone who reads this, to introduce chess to your friends and maybe start a chess club to your school if you go to one.But anyway just have fun playing.
