Very funny video. It should be popular with the world cup crowd, too. You should have put that in your forum topic title judging by all the comments about it I've seen.
Funny Commercial with chess

First they imply that chess is the world's least exciting game, then they set up a most unlikely position with two light-squared white bishops so all us chess geeks will argue as to whether such a position is possible. Did the d or f pawn really make it to the 8th rank, where it captured its way onto a white square, underpromote, then make it back to e2 behind a boatload of light squared pawns?? I don't know whether to laugh or cry, or just continue being a geek......

What discrimination against chess! Obviously these people have never entered the vast realms of this wonderful sport....
Can someone please post the position on the board?
I didn't really catch it on the comercial...

The two light squared bishops is nothing. The position on the projector doesn't even match the one on the board. For all we know the game is alright and just the demo board operators are drunk.

They really would have done themselves well to post a position from a famous game won with an extraordinary move, for example:
25....Qg3 from this game

I think they were more focused on the futbol than the chess. But they do give chess the title of "sport."

thank you stats man (i couldn't see the whole board lol)
You know Geico, they're funny, they probably did this on purpose to mess with over analytical chess fanatics :P now in the time you spent on figuring out the game in the commercial, you could have saved 15% or more on car insurance ;)

atleast they think chess is a sport!
EDIT: Nxg4? how is that a "goal"?
Who cares? A famous guy is screaming something!

The commercial itself is quite funny, especially to you soccer fans.
Also, funny is the improbable (yet legal) position in the chess game.
Can you see it? Hint: Think underpromotion.
