Also the rook as Chariot historically, the Bishop as Clown, Elephant, runner, the rook as Elephant, the knight as jumper, and a few of the others probably.

I would revert back to the original Indian style.

queen = general

pawn = (foot) soldier

knight = horse/cavalry

bishop = camel (or was it elephant)

rook = elephant (or was it boat)
