I agree. There's nothing more hidious than blue and white stripes.

Bookfoxer

Yeah, go ahead, make fun of Chinese clothing. How fashion-forward of you.

chess_cake

It is a chinese traditional shirt.

ivandh

Carlsen isn't traditionally Chinese, therefore, he should not be wearing that shirt.

Streptomicin

It's cool. And yes, blue and white shirt is just terrible.

GrantZierer

He must've wanted to make a good impression on the Chinese

ivandh

I would have liked for Anand to play the WCC in traditional Bulgarian attire.

Kolovrat

We haven't seen Carlsen play in a while, hope he bring us something new :)

spacealien

It may be possible to distract your opponent with the shirt you wear.

The blue and white stripes may be a good choice.

A referee shirt might work too.

Paisley?

tie dye?

what would be good?

You could print up shirts that had chess puzzle on the front and solution on the back.  That would be distracting.

msoewulff

really? was everyone at that tourny wearing that garb. If so  i wanna see the pictures.

kco

Look it up at the  chessbase website.

leightonnicholls

I think the shirt looks cool :D

Steinwitz

What strange things people find to complain about, and how uninformed the complaint is.

A few more funny shirts.

The red color must have been good for Carlsen, who won every game at the Nanjing Pearl Chess Tournament.

When Carlsen won the first game in that jacket, he decided to wear it for the next game and said he wouldn't stop using it unless he lost. He didn't lose. In chess circles, that jacket is legendary.
