The red color must have been good for Carlsen, who won every game at the Nanjing Pearl Chess Tournament.
When Carlsen won the first game in that jacket, he decided to wear it for the next game and said he wouldn't stop using it unless he lost. He didn't lose. In chess circles, that jacket is legendary.

the post was of a "hey look at this" attitude. Its kinda funny to see these stars in the abnormal costumes.
The one of Carlsen-Leko really does look ridiculous, the way Magnus is thinking and has a some kind of energy-soda bottle, and Leko with his scotch or whatever, plus the flags and those weird whale-type things.
Clearly, Topalov lost to Carlsen because he showed up in short sleeves. 
I wonder if the Dragon was played significantly more than at other tournaments.
Riga: Those long sleeves are perfect for hiding extra pieces...
ivandh, so that's how Carlsen won so many games! Perhaps he thought he was playing shogi, and kept parachuting pieces in whenever Topalov would look away.

If Erik is allowed to hang around the site in his shower cap, then I definitely think that Magnus should be allowed to show up to a tournament in his pajamas.
At Nanjing, the tournament organizers had two Chinese style jackets custom-made for each player. The players each got to choose two colours in advance, and Magnus chose red and some other colour. I think the blue and white shirt that he is wearing underneath is one of Magnus's own.
