There are some very tenuous links in that there list... "what a pawn I was" counts.
But ah, Europa.
This looks like quite a good list:

Another movie not mentioned there that I have seen is Traitor (set in the Middle East, about terrorism warfare), where a couple of the main characters play chess. A decent movie.
I just saw Omega Man and it was quite funny that he suddenly said something about a gambit and I think the non chess playing public wouldn't understand the dialogue. He also talked about discovered chess.
I cannot recommend the movie though but it was quite funny he talked about chess and played chess with a statue.
Why cannot you not recommend the Omega Man? That's the movie with Charleton Heston from 1971 right? You know it was a remake of a 1960's film, and the Omega Man was remade again in 2007 with Will Smith in the lead role. All three movies were quite good.
you may have movies yourself that you can't recommend even though some may find it good or remade a lot of times.
I just felt like this movie could have been good but I don't know what they should have done better or maybe I wasn't i a mood for a zombi movie.
I don't know if exist but I think it would be fun with a list of
movies where the hero plays chess.
