Don't take risks, play sound moves, and wait for your opponent to slip up.
Works effectively for me.

Better would be attacking positions based on sound decisons. Taking just plain risks can lead to risky situations that also can ultimately fall apart.
My strategy to win is always take risks. I first distract opponents by taking valuable coins in risk but then I play backup. Then I go all out with my rooks bishops and my queen ( I risk knights). Its chunky but it works! So my strategy to win is take risks. Only if I am making a new strategy or Losing I take sound moves. So all those chess players out there keep doing what you do but do you know your strategy to win?!
