Life would simpler if there was only one game, and it combined the rules of all the other games. The only problem: what to call it?

I'd call it LIFE. But Milton Bradley already has a trademark on that branding; the real pity it that their version isn't even a mere hint of a shadow of Life.

There's irony for you - to make Life "simpler" as artfizz wishes, LIFE has to become more complex by at least a couple dozen degrees of magnitude.

It's a hint enough. It only gets interesting in the end-game. Getting there might take a while.

I'd say the "nerdiness factor" of chess decreased as people grow up. In modern society it's hard to look down on someone considering how many flaws everyone has / (this statement needs a smiley and a sad face because i'm not sure if this is good or bad lol)

If you are out of high school, the word "nerdiness" or "coolness" should have no meaning for you.

I would much rather meet and talk to a nerd (i.e. someone who has an interest in something considered uncool by the drooling masses) than a "cool" person who does nothing but shop, drink, and read about what idiot starlet got arrested for what this week.
