The odd game out

I believe I is The Opera Game with Morphy.
Yes it is! Morphy vs Count Isouard & Duke of Brunswick.

I vaguely recall seeing something like X being played by Andersen or LaBourdonnais.
Is database use permitted?

Database use is fine, you are very close in your guess.

The sections can indeed be any part of the board. Some hints:
1) Only one game besides the XV.Saemisch-Nimzowitsch (already solved by Murrrrr) involves players of less than world champion (official or unofficial) caliber.
2) Games with 3 queens (or two queens of the same color) should be particularly easy to solve, as they are relatively rare
3) Fischer's games are quite prominent
Fragments of positions in some of the best known chess games ever played are shown below. All games, except one, share a common characteristic. Can you spot the odd game out?
Congratulations to bjazz, who solved the main question and pointed out that the Fischer-Petrosian game is the only one to end in a draw!
[Edit: games IX and XI proved too difficult to identify, so I am giving away the answers]
