victory dance

there has been many discussion about how annoying it is if people do not resign if they are losing big time. But why not take the opportunity to prolong the victory dance.
look at this way if they resign fast your joy of winning is just a second.
if they don't resign you can always look at the position with joy for a long time.

Victory dance ??

@ Reb, I posted it for fun.

But why not. tennis players, soccer players, football players dance show that they are winning. if we as chessplayers win we get up from the chair with no reaction at all. maybe a little smile but that's all.
some sportsfolk even dance like the banana after winning.
but I've yet to see a chessplayer do that.

being an observer,its a victory glance g g g g g g g g g very happy and funny.

I understand what you are saying and I wouldnt like to see chess players do such a victory dance really. I think its disrespectful to the opponent. In team events I think its not as bad but still I think sometimes the celebration is too much . In some sports you can get penalized for excessive celebration .

Natalia Pogonina may have a point:

"Surprisingly, euphoria is also harmful. Sometimes people are so happy celebrating a win, the next day they don’t have enough energy to fight on. Overreacting in the case of losses or victories is the wrong way to go. One should be delighted in a reserved way about wins, and treat losses as a means of improving in chess and stepping stones to future victories. Naturally, I am not trying to imply that one should become an emotionless robot. It’s about the golden middle and being the master of your emotions. "

but sometimes when I am winning I feel like an emotionless robot because it isn't common in chess to be happy about winning.

I guess you are right. I can see how this can be salt in the wound for the losing person, games are often lost due to a mistake the other person made and not because you played best.
but in tennis you see a person dancing around in joy and the other person crying on the other side and this happens all the time.

I'd rather see the banana doing the victory dance instead of me any day.

I wouldn't, if the banana danced it would be mushy when I ate it. It is just a dancing banana after all.

One thing I've always wanted to do: right in the middle of a round and everybody is concentrating on their games, when I make a move that gives me the advantage, I'd like to jump up on the table and yell at the top of my lungs, "I'm better!!!"

But I never have.
