when you feel lonely

then to watch movie or go windows shopping seeing things you need or you wish to own but you cannot afford 

Very true. Playing with someone who is so much different from you always make you wonder how unique everybody are  in their own way!

There is so much to explore in the world. You will not experience the diversity if you just play a game with someone from your own continent.

The good thing about chess is that it's universally understandible, even if you don't understand your opponent's langugage.  The pieces still move the same, and checkmate is the same in any language.

If you want to explore what other cultures have to offer, dont sit in front of a pc playing chess justifying that yourself as a useful intellectual activity enabling you to embrace diversity... travelling and talking to people is the best way (beside reading).

When I feel lonely,I will have a walk in the park.

When I feel lonely, I prefer to go to a rever and swim or go to chess.com and play with a friend.

I do not have to be lonely to enjoy a game and a chat. But it is true that chess can make you wander off in space, away from worries or hectics of the day. Cheer up. Challenge me.. you will probably win

...not of all us can afford the time to speak to people with different background either? pff... all excuses... internet buddy, internet. Been around for a couple decades now you know.
