Who is N.N?

Who is this NN?

He/she seems to have lost all the games. I can't find any games this person wins or even draw.

Sometimes he/she was given a queen or rook odds but still lose. The only good point is that this person must be very lucky. I can find the person playing against Morphy, Stenitz, Tarrasch, Alekhine. Tal, Capablanca and Karpov. Very lucky. Noone can get a chance to play against them all.

 Must be very old now.

 Sometimes NN plays with club players but still lose. NN must be the worst chess player in the world.

NN = unknown opponent; usually an amateur or an untitled player...  Perhaps he/she is embarrassed to be identified...  Wink

NN= LOOMIS

Actually, NN stands for No Name, indicating an anonymous opponent. I figured the original post was a joke, but thank you Reservesmonkey for misleading everybody.

why would kasparov, capablanca....etc.  play with NN?

Maybe this is just a joke.Undecided

NN lose every games...couldn't even master a draw. Poor fella. Lately he/she has lost to club players....I guessed being more experiencd doesn't mean improvement

I don't understand how NN could play all the greats like kasparov, capa, etc.. Some games are from simul, blindfold or even odds. But some are just normal games.

 Maybe one day I will meet NN and  get a chance to play with him/her. I will let him/her win for a change. It will be the first ever win by  NN !! Wink

While a 6.5% win percentage isn't anything to write home about, the claim that NN lost every game is overtstating it.  You'll notice that he even managed, among his rare wins, to beat some of the greats:

Usually because they were paid to by the sponsor (or entrants) of the simultaneous exhibition in which most such games are played.

I'm N.N.

Yes, I suck.

Actually, NN is the Latin abbreviation for nomina, which means "names."  It is like Anon in Anonymous.  It is used when the name of the player is not known or does not wish to be known.  When it is written as N.N., this comes from the Latin nescio nomen or "unknown name."

And a compilation he made of his own best games!
