5 Qc2 looks abit early, perhaps best to develop other pieces where you know you want them (eg Bg2), the queen may be useful on c2, but putting it there so early asks to be met with some tactic later eg Nb4.
I'm not too certain about the exchange of your bishop on move 13, with the intention on getting your knight to d5? but won't it be pushed back at some point with e6 and then blacks dark squared bishop could become a monster. When playing against a fianchettoed bishop be very wary of getting rid of your own bishop of the same colour, in some positions you can even exchange sac a rook to get a dominant fianchettoed bishop.
Although you got away with it, I would always recommend keeping the queens on the board when down on material, it gives you a better chance of getting back in the game.
Quite how you got him to play 24...a5 I don't know, did you confuse him, put on your sunglasses, or blind him for a second? LOL
You played a much better endgame than usual, have you been practicing?
Keep it up Macey, I'll be coming down the club next week photographing and so may capture one of your moments of genius...and may do a film of a blitz game.
Anyway, well done on beating a higher rated opponent.
here is a game i played last night winning in the end but from the end of the opening i was in desprate trouble but after his massive mistake in move 24 what do you think
