I don;t know, I think it is a good opening.
I will try it and I will tell you.
What's the idea after c4 is played?
Control the center of the board with your minor pieces i think....
So with dxc4, you're losing a piece, no? A gambit then?
Not really, it's similar to the queens gambit.
White can even play 1.nf3 d5 2.c4 dxc4 3.e3, and attempts to hold onto the pawn all become rather ugly for black.
Reti is a good opening but i wouldn't prefer to 1.e4 since it can change to a Queen's gambit declined easily which is what i do when my opponent uses it

I think that's White's best option. After other moves Black can easily get a queen's gambit accepted setup w/a6, b5 and c5. 3.Na3 e5 is also a problem.
The Reti is a transposition magnet, so you might want to be up on English & QGD positions if you play it.
Sharp and interesting, ha.
It can happen:

It would be nice if someone could kindly show us more continuation lines to play from the "reti" opening moves.
It's certainly interesting, but don't you think it's a little passive? More for positional or tactics players? I prefer a more aggressive forceful opening, queens gambit, or london opening.
I am really bored playing e4 and d4 all the time so i started playing the reti opening and found it really sharp and interesting. What do you think about the reti? You like it? You wanna try it? Just showing the main like in the diagram for those who have never seen it....
