Bots not playing at their rating

I’m fairly new to chess and chess.com and I enjoy playing against bots that are above my rating but whenever I play a bot and I go onto the game review after the game it says the bots have played at a lot lower rating? Is this just the bots being nice to me because I’m a lower rating or am I missing something? Cheers

Rating bots is difficult because it is difficult for the programmers to force them to play bad moves in human-like ways. They can play for many moves at a relatively strong level and then suddenly throw out a completely awful move.

Computer bot ratings aren't set through playing millions of rated games against real players. They used to be set that way but some people took advantage of their known faults to farm ratings.

Nice one that’s put my mind at ease now haha but you can get rating points from playing bots?

Not any more. They stopped that several years ago.

Good because if they still did that you could do bullet and win on time

Nice one for the help. Actually helpful mods on a website for once 👍🏻

You can also make custom board setups with boys, it would be easy to get yourself 40 queens and the bot 1 pawn, so they don't let bot wins give elo ratings.

5000 rated players that only play bots lol

And get beaten by a 200
