hello, first of all english it`s not my mother tounge so sorry for the mistakes.

I`ve been checking the new updates in game analysis and I found a very interesting tool: The Computer Aggregated Position Score (CAPS). It seems to me a good way to find cheaters. Let me explain.

This tool evaluates the strength of play for any chess player, or the quality of moves of any chess game. A CAPS of zero percent means a game played with one of the worst moves on every turn, and 100 percent is a game where only the top choice of the world's strongest chess computers was played on every move.

If someone usually plays high CAPS matches without cheating, it should be reflected in his ELO. (You can see this conexion in the article above)
As we all know, some players may be tempted to use computer software to play for them. When they do that, they "play" at a very high level, frecuenly choosing the best mooves and obtaining a CAPS near 100%. If we find players with a standar ELO who plays high CAPS matches, most probably they are getting some kind of help.
what do you think? Could it work? Give it a try and let me know.

PS: i`m starting a list of posible cheaters wink.png

Could be. But he didn't name or shame anyone. I thought it was useful information. Relevant, helpful, and nice.

Chess.com takes cheating very seriously: see https://support.chess.com/customer/en/portal/articles/1444879-fair-play-on-chess-com-what-you-need-to-know and https://www.chess.com/blog/DanielRensch/cheating-on-chesscom.
However, discussion of cheating is not permitted in the general forums.  Therefore I am locking this thread.

To learn more about cheat detection, please join the Cheating Forum at https://www.chess.com/club/cheating-forum. Note, however, that even in the cheating forum, the normal rules against public accusations still apply. Suspected cheaters should be reported at https://support.chess.com/customer/portal/emails/new. All reports are investigated, even if there is no immediate visible action.
