Those are the 7 imbalances that IM Jeremy Silman wrote about in his "How to Reassess Your Chess" and "The Amateur's Mind". Refering to minor pieces as officers is a little contrived to find a way to make the acronym work, but otherwise, that's a pretty good way to remember those 7 imbalances.

My Check List works this way

I do a scan

1. Look for unprotected pieces

2. Look for checks

3. Look for chat all pieces attacked

4. Then I look for squares that cannot be protected by pawns

Then I IMPLODE

I = inititiatve

M material

P Pawns  islands, weak pawns, isolated pawns

Lines for Queens Bishops and Rooks and Stars for Knights

Officers    Does the pawns structure favor Knight or Bishops

Development who is developed more

E I think of the Energy Momentum Tensor and think who has the most space
