If the position was wide open, White's lead in development would probably be decisive. But the position is fairly closed, and after playing d6, Black will have erected a strong pawn barrier, behind which he can slowly get himself developed. If he succeeds, he will be up a healthy pawn--a big advantage.
If you play this position out a few times, you will find that both White and Black have their problems!
I have two questions. Position is from Smith-Morra Accepted with 5...Bb4
1. Is this position really equal? It seems white is three moves ahead in development in exchange for one pawn. I would think white is ahead as long as he keeps "the pedal to the metal".
2. Also, there are two screenshots, one done through the game analysis and the other manually set up. The engine is set at the same parameters and yet the evaluations are quiet different. Both ran for about the same time, like 30 min. What is the reason for this?
Thank you all in andvance!!!
