Hey people, I´m reading my first book of chess "bobby fischer teaches chess" and I had a doubt. In exercise 47, he shows a mate diagram, as follow: (the editor didn't let me put as diagram so i had to put the last move to show the diagram of the book)

So I thoght: "it's a checkmate early in the beggining of the game. How can I pull this off?"

And I try to made the sequences of moves that led to this position, but I can't find it. The closes I get was this:

So, people, is it possible to reach the position of the book or not?

Thanks in advance for the attention.

Your diagram didn't show up so I can't see how close you got.

It is known as Legal's Trap and is one of the best known in the game.

You'd rather change learning book: the one you have is total crap (and the Bobby Fisher mention is a scam, as you've already found).

pfren, do u have any suggestions? I will finish it anyway, I started today and i'm already past half of the book.

But, as u both can see, the e4 pawn was not in the diagram of the book, and it was one of my doubts, who capture that pawn?

This is the the closest i get, before u guys showed me.
