You get what you pay for: the free chess analysis program is terrible

I'm a free member, and I should say up front that I really enjoy this website. However, the game analysis is terrible and inaccurate. I just finished a game in which I knew I had made a blunder that should have cost my Queen, with a pinned pawn and a knight fork. But the computer analysis missed it too, instead recommending that white move his Rook.

Has anyone else encountered poor analysis recommendations? Or am I missing something in my own analysis of why capturing the Queen was NOT the best move at the time??

Screen shot of the computer analysis' recommended move (25. Nf5 forks the King & Queen, winning the Black Queen since the g pawn is pinned by White Queen):

But Nf5+ would have been an illegal move because your knight was pinned...

It would have been a great move if white got to play both Kh1 AND then Nf5+ in one move but sadly, no.

*sigh*, of course you're correct. I'm going to delete this post...

No need to sigh. We all do such things.

AFter the game when it was fresh in my archive it said I was only 77.8% accurate but I think I played perfectly.  I think it is really underestimating white's position in the lines as I played it and overestimating black's resources.  I think the problem is that it tries to brute force everything but only looks up to a certain depth and is heavily misunderstanding deeper positional elements

That is possible since chess.com has never offered a detailed explanation of how Accuracy, aka CAPS, is computed.

Up to now I have been very satisfied with the computer analysis.

I analysed all my games up to recently (now I have too many of them to analyse them all).

Is there a different analysis tool for free members ? I doubt it.

If you read the original poster's comments, he thought he had found a winning move missed by the computer but he had missed the fact that his knight was pinned.

So his comments/ rant were retracted.

The analysis tool for free members is the same but they only get one analysis per day.

Wow how did they even measure it?
