Game Analysis

My school chess club just started on Friday. I am posting my games from the first week. I played a lot of new players who weren't that great, but I was hoping to see if I could have done better. By the way, the ratings are a little inflated since they are only for people in the chess club. Any advice or criticism is welcome.

Yeah, I usually play much better opponents, but a lot of freshmen came that day and I just played them to see how they were.

lol, that's a funny story. I can't really say that i've seen that before, but it has been fun so far.

Grob's attack can be fun sometimes against weaker players and there's a trap in it that often works against people I play with in the chess club in school.

Right, so... the trap:

It's fun to slaughter people like this, but just don't think it's helping your chess game improve!  It could easily encourage you to be sloppy and shallow because after all you can get away with anything...  I think the low point is in game 2:

10...Re8 11.g5  Nfd7? [11...Bxa3 was forced or you lose material]12.h4?  [12.Bxd6] Be5 13.d4? Bc7? [13...exd3 en passant! you have a double attack, on rook and queen]

The mate in game1 was quite elegant, and the game 3 mate showed you refraining from gobbling free material in order to find even better moves. Well done.

My advice : play stronger players, and post a game you lost with your own notes.

That will help you improve.

The mate in game 1 came 1 move too late, but no matter, since you found it.

Game 2 after 12...Ndf7? I think I see 13. Bxd6 Qxg5 with the threat of Qg2.
