Here's a recent game of mine.  I think I was pretty good until I lost the rook at the end.  Please take a look.

6Bxc4 seems better than the text, otherwise it doesn't look too bad tactically other than the oversight at the end.

Positionally, you don't seem to have any plan at all. All your moves are either reactionary, or planning an isolated tactic which could easily be stopped. This is difficult to achieve, but it will mean more won games if your moves have a long-term purpose.

Yeah, I also feel you did not plan to place your pieces well.

Your bishop was better placed on a3 and bxc3 was better. So, Bd2 on move 9 was not the best. Better was Nf3.

On move 18, you say you wanted to setup a trap if he played a wrong move. Thats a wrong strategy to play for his bad moves. I think better was 18.Bc5 to lock his b7 bishop and then follow it up with Be2 and f4 to create pawn weaknesses on king side.

it looks a bit loose after 20moves black has 2 levers c5 an f6 if Bxc5 then Rc8 looks threatening f6 attacks the support of the bishop on d6

bigmac30

the big thing with this opening is black wants to control e4 and ocupy it with th knight or bishop

14.a4 might have won the pawn back (14...bxa4 15.Bxc6+ Nxc6 16.Qxa6 Nxb4 17.Qb5+ and Qxb4), I think white is better then.
