Resolved- Game Review Q: What even is a missed win?

Edit: Question was answered below by Martin_Stahl, thanks very much for that.

Hi, so I just played a game which I won in the end after a hard fight. I got lucky. A lot. I'm reviewing my game, and it's this situation. I'm not asking for advice on the game itself.

I'm black, 420. Opponent is white, 503. Black to move.

And I miss checkmate. All I have to do is move Queen d1, and I win. But instead, I moved king d7.

My question is, why is this not considered a "Missed Win" by the engine analysis/game review? Instead the bad king move is reported as an "inaccuracy".

What does "Missed Win" mean if missing a literal mate-in-one isn't a "missed win"? Sorry if this has been asked and answered, I couldn't find it and I'm still not used to this website.

  • A Missed Win is when you miss an opportunity to capitalize on your opponent’s mistake and gain a winning position, and instead end up equal or worse. As with expected points, the engine evaluation needed to be in a winning, equal, or losing position will change along with a player’s rating.

You're still massively winning after the king move, so the overall evaluation is still winning.
