It probably has to do with how the computer sees brilliant moves it just sees it as a free pawn where taking the bishop isn't the best move. Brilliant moves are usually more forcing or are giving up more material idk.
How is this not a brilliant??

@E9r0pe I guess that is true but if you don’t take the bishop you still will probably get checkmated either way, also a bunch of brilliants I have seen are not forcing or don’t have to be taken. For example: https://www.chess.com/analysis/game/daily/398525439 (this is not my game btw) he got a brilliant for the move kf1 on move 33 for sacrificing the queen, but the queen doesn’t have to be taken at all.

Btw if you’re wondering why the game is not in my account this is my alt, you can see the game on my main, (funnychessman99).

I was playing a game against the Maria bot here’s the game: https://www.chess.com/game/computer/260465752?move=46 and on the 23rd move I sacrificed the bishop, (Bxh3) for a mate in 8 but, it says it’s a best move, not even a great move. This makes absolutely no sense because, it’s the only move that forces mate in 8, and the rest of the moves that stockfish recommends don’t lead to mate at all. Does anyone know why this is not a brilliant?
Its not a brilliant because you are up 13 points of material
