Those look like good replacements for SCID. I may give them a try. But they are just for creating and modifying .pgn files, right? You can't share them with someone who doesn't have a program to view the .pgn?
I recently found lichess looks to have the ability to annotate where chess.com does not. I just import games from here over there and use their "study" feature. Can share on social media with a link.
But if I wanted to post an annotated game to a forum here, I guess I would still have to use a .pgn file as a link to lichess wouldn't help there.
How To Annotate A Chess.com Game

I seemed to have figured out what everyone here knows already. Since you can't annotate in chess.com, you need to first annotate in a program and then import back here to share, such as in a forum post. If you just wanted to share with friends, I think posting to lichess.com study is a better bet. At lichess.com you can do your annotating right there. But you can't then save back to .pgn. So best to do the annotating first in the program and then copy the .pgn to past in lichess study, which you can then share with a link.
I haven't been able to figure out how to add annotation to a completed game here on chess.com. I always have to do it on SCID. Using SCID is fine for sharing .pgn files, but I want something I can share with a simple link. Any help appreciated!
