How to find out my statistics with various openings?

Hi Everyone,

I've played almost 1700 games now since starting chess in may 2020. I rose up quickly to about 450 and lingered there for a while till I learnt some great tips from the Bartholomew youtube channel inter alia. Since then I moved all the way up to 830 but for the last 5 weeks I've been a full 200 lower than this, stuck in the low 600s and truly clueless as to why.

I figure it would be interesting to focus on a particular opening and stick with it, but I want to analyse which openings have been most successful for me. How can I do this? Is there some analysis option?

Pretty easy to do actually.  Go Learn>Explorer and then use the drop down menu to change from master games to my games.   Have fun!

Thks - I had only one game - I thought it would allow you to peruse all games but it seems I need to save them... or am I missing something?

You must be missing something; here's what I got for you with e4..

Thanks Baddogno. I was able to get this screen to show, but how is it to be interpreted. For example, in looking at the top entry: It seems I've played 280 games using e4 as an opening? which is typically met with e5 as my opponents response (41%)? or is this the percentage that I win when I open with e4? Is there anyway I can see the percentage of games I win as white vs black, or percentage by a particular opening? I suspect I've got a better winning history as Black!?

I'll try.  No you haven't played 280 games using e4; you have played 280 games in which your opponent replied with e5.  When e5 is played as a response, you win as white 41% of the time and black wins 54% of the time.  Likewise, when black replies with d5, you win 42% of the time and lose to black 56%.  Obviously the grey area is for draws.  Now to find your stats for a particular opening, you need to add a few more moves; the more you add the more you narrow it down.  As to overall history as white or black, you need to go to your Stats.  They just overhauled the stats page, so bear with me while I go try and find the info...

Yeah, as i suspected that info is to be found Home>Stats and then probably Rapid since that's what you play most.  Then you need to click on Full Stats and that will open a page where you can check your winning/losing percentage as either white, black, or overall.

I think that's it...

Thanks again for the interpretation guide Baddogno. I can't get any result other than '0 games found', however, when I choose a particular opening type after going  Home --> Completed Games...

I just tried Game Explorer via Learn --> Explorer to find that as White, opening with e4 leads to a 44% win rate (3% more than what you found??) but 51% for d4 (Queens gambit) which I've favoured more in the latter part of my 9 months play.. I find that my display doesn't show it with the same layout as what you pasted above...You are viewing my stats via explorer right?

Are you on one of the mobile apps?  I've been using a Chrome browser on a PC and I think that may be why "stuff" is a little different.  And of course I don't know anything about the mobile apps.  Anyone care to help out here?
