Your position was technically better until move 5; your opponent wasted a lot of time with 3. h3 and 5. a3.

5...e5? loses a pawn. Better would be e6 to lock the bishop out of the pawn chain while getting ready to develop the other bishop.

6...Nxe5? loses the knight! Notice that the pawn you pushed was defended by you only once (the knight) and attacked twice(pawn, bishop). That means it can be taken by the opponent!

8..gxf6?! possibly better was Qxf6 to develop. The pawn on d5 was lost anyway.

11. Nf3? by your opponent loses his knight on d5! You now have a chance despite being a pawn down.

By move 15 your pawn structure is sort of repaired. Castling queenside and doubling rooks was good as well, since your opponent failed to take the chance to castle this would give you good invasion chances. It was probably premature to try and invade on the seventh rank already in light of 18. b4 gaining time and eliminating targets for your rook.

22...e5? loses a pawn, obviously. But your opponent gives back the favor with 24. Nd4?, which leaves him with 3 pawns for the knight. He probably still holds a small advantage given your weak pawns.

After that, you just didn't use your extra piece (the Bishop) effectively against his pawns, it mostly sat there on your ranks. It may have been worth it to try and get him behind your opponent's pawns to try and gun them down from the back, since he has one less piece to defend them with. Once he got the connected passed pawns in the middle, at move 31, your opponent had a clear advantage and it was probably too late to use your piece against the pawns.
