For games played here, after they complete, there is a link on the actual game page for Computer Analysis. It isn't a live analysis and you will be notified when it is done.

The new version of the site (still in beta) has a different interface for it, and is done in browser when you click the link instead (from what I understand -- haven't used it).

Yes. Check your game page. You dont need to copy PGN's or anything.

Game Archive > View > Computer Analysis

After you click that, your game will submit to the server for analyzation. After some time (usually not more than 5-10 mins.) you will recieve a Private Message with your special link to the game. After you click that link you'll have what you want.

There, change your drop-down to the type of game you are interested in. Click the View link next to the game you want to analyze, and in that game, find the link that says Computer Analysis. It will submit it to the server and you'll get notified when it is complete with a link to the analysis.

ok got it... no offence but that is the worst analysis ever. it shows only one variation and doesnt show the points ( points of white and black on a ceirtain possition ). hence i can not explore all the possible variations and can not get a proper idea on who is better in a given position. copying the PGN and using an internet engine seems to be logical than this... :-(

Martin_Stahl

I've used the analysis a few times, mainly for testing. I prefer to use a local engine after the game is done. Better quality overall and I can decide the overall parameters (how long to anayze or how deep, when to to score, whether or not to add variations, etc).

Not really desinged to be an in depth analysis. It is a quick look over your game to point out mistakes.

It takes a total of about 30 mins (maybe more if lots of games/maybe less if no other games) to do the analysis. What do you really expect? If you got the Diamond Membership for the comouter analysis there were much better ways to spend your money.

durja

do not understand how the points (+ve) and (-ve) points work.

paleonath

I can't get the analysis to work since the recent updates to the site...

I haven't used it in a while but when I did the value is in pawns, so +1.5 means you're winning by about 1.5 pawns.

The color of the text for each move means this:
(black) Excellent - same as the best move
(gray) Good - worsens your position by up to 0.3 points
(blue) Inaccuracy - at least 0.3 points worse than best move
(orange) Mistake - at least 0.9 points worse than best move
(red) Blunder - at least 2.0 points worse than best move

(Not sure if this is the same anymore)😽

The game analysis is confusing to me. When I click on one of the lines provided by the computer, it seems to jump to a different position, and say that a certain move was played. I want to be able to learn from my mistakes and missed wins, and to understand why the suggestion of a nice in lieu of the "missed win" would be successful

What does the word lieu mean?

@Harvey1002 assuming that you have waited 4 years for an answer:

Merriam Webster gives the definition

in lieu of
: in the place of : instead of

hariz_00

Is site analysis better than app

The above was years ago. If you click review my game after playing you get a good analysis. You can get 1 free 1 per day.

If you click "Review", you get Game review which is complete trash.

If you click "Analysis", you get the actual engine analysis. There you can check any move, as deep as you wish, back and forth.
