Is Ne3 a sound move?

In this game I attempted a Knight sacrifice, but I have the feeling that, with a correct defense, white could have resisted my attack.

Any help will be appreciated.

I think 16.c5, Qxc5 17.Nb3 is the best defence for white

On the other side 16.c5, Qa6 still puts pressure on white weakness (Rf1+Ne1) (12.Ne1 is a terrible move)

So it seems like Ne3 is not only a sound move but a good move...

How about 20) .. Nxf3. Win for Black. Unless I mis-calculated or didn't see better moves for White in the chess board below :P
