Killing by Castling?

Suppose my left-hand Rook still sits at H8 and my King still sits at D8. An opponent’s piece is currently at G8. If I castle, and my King lands at G8, would he kill my opponent’s piece.

No. You can't castle if there are any pieces between your king and the rook you are castling with.

If your king is d8, and not even, then you king has move and is therefore not able to castle. I'm sure that was typo.
