why do I remember that but not what day it is sometimes...
2 Bxa6 is probably wrong: white gives up the bishop's pair.
In the Steinitz - Chigorin games black did not capture ...Bxh3 arguing Nh3 is misplaced

If you follow me, you know I’ve been working on the Lemming Defense; an ultra-rare opening for black against e4. 1. e4, na3 is so rare, it’s only been played 24 times on chess.com (two of which are mine, 1W/1L)
In this game, you see the Lemming Defense: Rodent Variation (as I call it) work to absolute perfection.
The goal of this opening, entirely in my opinion because the research and avaliable reading on this opening is close to zero, is to do two main things:
•Have an attack line on a short castle
•Open white’s rook on the a file
The Rodent Variation of the Lemming Defense takes the double pawns we get immediately in the opening after 1. e4, na3 2. Bxa3, bxa3 and uses it as a tactic to push the “rodent” (pawn) down the a file with the ultimate goal of removing the b2 pawn from the square protecting the rook on a1.
in addition, we want to get our dark square bishop on the same attack line as the rook, the best way to do this is move your g7 pawn to g6, then play Bf7. This not only puts a line of attack on the a1 rook, but also secured a tight, tough to penetrate defense and prepares you to castle while having good defenders that can become attackers at a moments notice.
Let me know what you think of this game using the Lemming Defense! The opening is still in the rough stages, but I was overjoyed to see the tactic and opening actually work.
