Hey guys, here is a game I've played recently using my new favorite opening.

I love the f pawn opening.  I hear it is much worse if you do it as black than as white but it worked out pretty well here!

I'm fairly new to chess.  I've been playing for about 6 months now and I always look for ways to improve.

I see a few mistakes I made in this game that my opponent didn't exploit, but I might have made more.

I know my opponent was rated lower than me, but I think he played well.

I certainly didn't think I possessed the skill I displayed in this game!

I played as black.  I won.

odd how your oppoment is defensive then at the end he goes for material than deal with the obvious chaekmate

23.Bxe7?? Had white simply played 23. Ne2 to f4 would have been winning for white. That opening you played theweaponking was very unsound and would not work against even a mid-level player.

1...f5 is not unsound.

Although you really did luck out in this game.  Your opponent had a material advantage and could've parried your mating threat easily with the move Jr. described, then after Q c6  followed up by Rxe6.

Yes, the Dutch Defence is not unsound.

His following moves were, though, and that is probably what Capablanca was trying to tell us from beyond the grave...

6. Bf6 dont move a piece twice in the opening as a rule. You could have developed another piece. White Ng5 possibly is not a good enough reason - no threat immediately

Not a bad game. Would have liked to have seen you develop fully b/4 attacking eg. QN and Q

I see I didn't make my post clear and for that my apologies. I didn't mean 1...f5 in itself was bad, but was merely talking about the opening as a whole, and the subsequent moves thereafter. Hopefully I have successfully refined my earlier post.
