Making a PNG

When using the analysis board to review games played before that one has saved say in a word document and after pasting the PNG how do you send the game to a friend who can just open his email and click the forward arrow to watch the game play like you see it on the analysis board? Hope I have explained this so everyone can understand it. Thanks in advance.

I believe this will work:

  • Insert a diagram into a Blog post here on chess.com
  • Once the game has been insterted, and you've saved your post, you should see a link called "Embed"

For some reason "Edit" isn't working, so I can't correct/complete my post.  The link is called "Share", not "Embed" and the next step is as follows:

  • You may be able to cut and paste the contents of that into an HTML formatted e-mail (although I'm not sure), alternatively, you can snip the URL for the diagram out of the code and simply send them a link:

Note that this is only available for diagrams and games/sequences.  Puzzles are not able to be shared in this manner.  Why, I'm not sure.

I am would prefer to just paste my PGN into the board and have a means of saving the game and emailing it to friends and not post into a blog here. I tried what you suggest short of posting into a blog but does not work for me? Thanks again

I can paste my game and play through it on the analysis board but don't know how to save it to send in email form?

TheGrobe

I don't think it can be done simply.  I'm also not able to embed it right into an e-mail.  I think your best bet may be to save it to a blog as I've described above, and then send the link from the text displayed when you click "Share" as I've done above.

Ok TheGrobe thanks for all the help you have given and maybe someone else can solve how to email game without posting to  a blog. Take care

Has anyone got a simpler way?

Playing through a game visually by clicking a button can be done only by a PGN viewer, which is a type of program that is *sometimes* made available on *some* blog sites by the sponsor of the domain, especially by some chess sites. I had so much trouble finding a blog site that would do this while providing other features I wanted that I finally gave up on it. Regarding the OP's question, all this means that the receiver of the e-mail will need to have a PGN viewer on his/her own computer, unless there is some new technology from the past year that I haven't heard of. Some PGN viewers are free (though probably poor), and some can be purchased.
