MY FIRST BRILLIANT MOVE!!!

so... I know the analysis is BROKEN but im still proud of my first brilliant move.

My oponent was winning, but he blundered and then I made the brilliant move!!

it was a pawn endgame where the brilliant move was 2 tactics, atracttion, and zugzwang

atraction is, welp atracting a piece to a certain square, and zuzgwang is where all your oponent's moves are bad.

here is the link to the game directly to the analysis to see the brilliant move.

btw we played pretty bad moves cuz it was a 3 min blitz match so not much time to think.

With that out of the way, the link:

Good job, the first time I saw a brilliant move was when I checked analysis from a Bobby Fischer game. It's pretty rare.

jeftakels is right, a good and unexpected move may be called brilliant, but in computer analysis, a brilliant move is when you have some options of which only one gives you an enormous advantage and you play it, ie. you play the first engine move which is also the only winning move. This is the case above: 33...hxg3 was the only way for black to win in that position.

I don't think there is any difference beetween best move or brilliant move it is kinda random if it appears

The difference is that best moves can be the best out of all bad moves available. A brilliant move however, is both the best move and a good move.

lol din't know that

pretty weird to me.

Brilliant your move may be, but if you don't understand why it is so brilliant and if you played it instinctively and did not spend a half hour calculating lines and planning it, it really isn't that brilliant. I don't mean to rain on your parade or anything, but most of the time a "brilliant" move shows up in a game analysis in games at your rating level and probably levels quite a bit higher, is because the player just got lucky and played a move that seemed perfectly normal to them, but when the engine when through calculations saw it as brilliant.

A brilliant move is, and I quote: "The best move, and tricky to find too!!"

even a 800 rated can see the e4 square is now available for king plus it was3 min blitz match so couln't take 2 minutes calculating lines
