i can play
1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 g6 6.Be3 Bg7 7.f3 0-0 8.Qd2 Nc6 9.0-0-0 Bd7 without thinking, and many other lines

I think that all those players could get quickly better if they forced themselves to pay more attention to the position. They are usually just too lazy to carefully study everything on the board. I was like that too, I was too lazy and never took the time to study the position, so I just followed some principles. After I started paying more attention I got better surprisingly quickly.

I don't think there is anything else to do but to force yourself to start thinking. It will probably also help a lot to start playing long games and correspondence chess.
I need help. Sometimes I will make moves without thinking them through. Does anyone have any ideas for me?
