I got done by that checkmate pattern recently. I just missed it, a blunder. You didn't play badly at all.

Well, actually, I was white, I mistyped, but I've been done by that pattern a lot.
Yeah, all he had to do is take your Knight. I guess he was a little overconfident. :P
I think I played really badly, but my opponent made a move which i believe to have been much worse than any played by me...and I'm pretty bad at chess, so advice is welcome.
White is me, rated at 867, v. some guy at 1650.
