Dear Community,

is it possible that Stockfish 15.1 that is running on my Xiaomi 12 Pro (Snapdragon 1) is faster than Stockfish 16 on Chess.com? When I give the two the same positions to analyze, my Stockfish finds faster mates in less times and also reaches a deeper depth in less time.

How is that possible?

Thanks.

If 15.1 on your device is a native app compile, it probably will run faster than the browser-based JavaScript version.

Hi Martin, I cannot understand your reply. It is my understanding that the Stockfish 16 we see on Chess.com is a natively compiled version running on their servers, so it has nothing to do with any javascript thing. Am I wrong?

By my understanding, chess.com (and others ) use a small CPU resources, small RAM resources which is enough to analyze games of amateur players. It's not a surprise a phone can analyze faster specially with more threads and RAM allocated.

Game Review is running on the server. The Analysis tab is local to the device and is running locally in the browser.
