Hi, I recently played a game with a person that I will not name, and the game was 83 moves, I thought the game was a draw but my opponent declined the  draw offer, Is this position drawn?

Just because a positon is "equal" does not mean it is a draw.  This position is not even equal.  White is +/-...winning.

With that type of material still on the board I would continue playing as white because White has a clear advantage.  If I was Black I would probably accept the draw offer.

It is a win because White can sacrifice his rook for the Bishop and a pawn at the right time to create a winning passed pawn.  After exchanging the last pair of rooks, the ensuing King and Pawn endgame is easy technical mop-up.

Yes I agree with you that white can sacrifice his rook for the bishop, however I had some trouble doing so as seen in the game. I knew that I couldn't win the game if I just had my rooks dance around.

pro game neat :P

This is infact NOT a draw, you can take bishop with rook.

BAHAHA

Were you worried you wouldn't be able to finish the game? Otherwise, I can't think of any reason you would offer a draw there.

I didn't want to sacrifice my rook for his bishop, therefore I offered a draw because the game would drag on for so long, he declined so thus I had to consider the fact of doing that

W should win by infiltrating his K along the black squares, eg e3-d4-e5-f6

I thought of that, but black can simply check my king on e1, then if I proceed to go on d4, he can go on g1, attacking my g3 pawn, and I simply just cannot hold it. So my king had to stick around near the f2, g2, h2 or f3 area

You're right, it is difficult. It might be best to try to force a rook exchange first.

Haha I was pressing on for a rook exchange, but in that position black DEFINETLY would not have traded rooks, the black rook was the only thing that was pestering me.
