It’s really sad when Stockfish ruins your games. It happened to me recently. I thought that I was losing, but my attack on the kingside could maybe lead to a swindle…[Stockfish gives +2 and I have the white pieces]

Now, my opponent’s rooks get out of the fire, ready to destroy me on the queenside…[engine eval. +3]

His king is fleeing, and my attack will fade away if I continue making threats, so I lock in his king instead, hoping for a mistake…[engine eval. +1]

I keep his king restricted, but can’t he just go to f5?

A move that I had foreseen a few moves ago. My opponent has just went into a trap! (If not for his time trouble, he would probably play another move.)

An amazing finish! I was really proud of this wonderful swindle, until a few days later, when I analyzed it with Stockfish…

I was actually better the whole game, I missed some opportunities that I shouldn’t had missed, and after my brilliant knight sacrifice, black could had just ignored the gift, and I had no idea about how to continue. Stockfish said +3, but I am not sure wheither I would win, since I didn’t know what to do after that. Also, at move 9 of the attack, black could had defended with …d3, when Stockfish says I am completely winning. I saw the defence in the game, but my evaluation after 10.Qxd3 was … about equal.

So, this is how Stockfish upset me and turned a fantastic swindle into a sloppy game where my opponent was never ahead. My advice is to never let Stockfish analyse games that you are proud of.
