This is awesome! I've never have seen the Blackburne shilling counter or the one in the bishop's opening
1001 Chess Traps (actually 1092)

This is awesome! I've never have seen the Blackburne shilling counter or the one in the bishop's opening
That's why it's a great, GREAT resource. The risk of course being involved that they are traps, and all traps come with the risk of having an inferior position when the opponent defends well. But since about 90% of the traps on this site are ones which very few players have seen before, it is a great way to get to learn some tricks.
For example, the Vienna Gambit is due to rise in popularity after GothamChess and Hikaru made a tier list of all gambits and put this on the #1 spot. Chesstraps.net already shares some great traps for White. But they also have a trap for Black. That just shows how extensive this really is, but what else would you expect with 1092 traps?
Here's that trap, by the way. I hope resources like this will be a great discussion point for many topics about gambits.
Strictly spoken this is a pawn checkmate because you move the pawn to deliver checkmate. That would beat the other trap I showed earlier, since this is checkmate on move 9!
The beauties of traps...
About post 3.
Wildekaart:"an amazing discovered checkmate."And:"Strictly spoken this is a pawn checkmate."
This is very arguable.
The mating pattern.
I think this is mate by bishop.
How about this?
Is this strictly spoken mate by rook or by bishop?white plays bishop g1 mate.

Nice!
Problem is it seems like it's encouraging going for traps.
Traps are rarely the most solid ways of playing. But you can still expand your opening repertoire with a few traps if you'd want to. A nice way to grab some easy points if you play a lot.

You are aware though that f4 isn't the best against Nc6
Anyway nice trap and is this thread pure advertising? lol honestly I see no point

When it's a chess resource (and therefore not a competitive site) that can be very interesting to other chess players and it's not 'by me', what's the matter? Are you looking to start an argument?

No but it seems like you are by asking this question
I am just asking if we are supposed to post something back like the trap I posted
Hello everyone!
I've recently rediscovered a site which has some of the most creative and stunning chess traps in a wide variety of openings. Since you can't actually play chess on it, it's not really a competitive site, so I guess I can give you the name of this website which is chesstraps.net
Chesstraps has a magnificent 1092 traps for you to learn, ranging from classics like:
The Blackburne Shilling Gambit
Or what about the Elephant Trap?
But there are also much lesser known traps. For example, we can counter the Blackburne Shilling Gambit:
For basically any opening, chesstraps.net has a trap for White or Black. Some of these traps are very complicated and hard to pull off, others are common sights. Here's my personal favorite among the ones I've found, called Greed is a Bottomless Pit:
I mean, if you can give checkmate with a pawn on move 11, surely you're a mastermind. And you'll be a mastermind in no time when you go to this website and learn some cool new traps you've likely never seen before!
