Can't beat Chess Titans Level 2?

Mr_Awsome

I have a chess tournament coming up and I've been practicing against the lower levels of Chess Titans. However, I can't even beat Level 2! Here is the game I played, if some masters could see how I could become better I would appreciate it. Thanks.

You really really need to do these free Chess Mentor lessons.  Your second move tells anyone who looks at your game that you haven't a clue how to develop.  Sorry, but there is just no way to sugarcoat it.

too many and early queen moves so you dont develop well and loose tempo .

you didnt open the position but retreated in the face of  oponnents pawn moves and gave him advanced pawns usefull for the endgame and you could have taken the rook back with the knight on move 25.

you left youre knight on the far corner of the board without bringing it back to help  attacking blacks pawns which was easy but neededa bit maneuvering since his pieces were all cramped up on his queenside doing nothing then you hung your knights .

all in all you play without a plan or cordination ( id say you were lost  from move 25) and youre sense of danger was low which co0st you material .

sorry to say you are not ready for tournaments yet but here is some help if you are going to invest time : http://www.taflfelag.is/assets/files/Nimzowitsch,.Aron.My.System.(21st.century.ed).pdf.

you must also want to learn soome openings , not alot as the stereotype says just two for white two for black then when you play the first five moves correctly go deaper

here is a game i just played against the same program for illustration though i dont recommend you to use the tactics i used without some tactical training first on this sites tactical trainer :

I still can't manage to beat it, though.

However, Level 1 is super easy, even for me.

you only need to improve  in your openings and train tactics plus improve your game basics knowledge so i posted you the book by nimxowitsch , very famous  book that every player reads as it contains very important rules and concepts that chess players must apply to their games , i also improved watching how  famous gms play

The link doesn't work for the book.

You need basic knowledge of the opening middle game and endgame. I suggest that you watch chess.coms free videos on these topics

I question whether your claims are true. The version of Chess Titans I play always uses a book move, even on level 2, therefore in about 15 tries I was unable to get it to play 1...h6 against 1. e4 as you experienced. Also, do you really mean level 2? I almost can't distinguish between levels 1 and 2 since its play is so bad at either level.

For example, I tried to get into the same opening position you did with Chess Titans just now, and this was the closest I came...

The two things that helped me most for playing successfully against computer programs were learning to watch for tactical tricks, and learning the openings out to several moves.

The biggest problem is keeping up with your material. Always be careful and aware while you are playing, also work on your tactics trainer.

A much better game I played against Chess Titans, some moves it made were really stupid.

for the indian i rate 1300 live and 1600 online and ive learned chess some 8 months ago so i am the one who can give best try to help as i was there once.At this level you must watch out for your material as well as your oponents and coordinate your pieces which meen make them work together and protect each other and overprotect attacked ones as nimzowitsch said in the book i gave you , very important tips

Mr_Awsome

Why is it that Level 1 is so easy but I can't beat Level 2?

FadyElkady

cause you play passive and hang pieces , i had just played for tactics and sacrificed a rook against level two in the game above

Mr_Awsome

I finally beat Chess Titans Level 2!
