This is the second game at chess.com I got to play to the end!

I had the good fortune of getting a very sporting and cheerful opponent - a rare opponent worth playing with regularly with! I feel guilty about consulting my MCO14, for after sometime it became apparent my opponent was not consulting a book (I mean, fair is fair - either both should consult, or neither - even if it is allowed)!

He was chatting very amicably, which caused him to lose concentration and make the first blunder on the 10th move.

I have tried to annonate as much as I could - other thoughts are very welcome from anybody.

He did a marvelous knight fork on his 18th move, but got a reply fork on the 19th.

All your suggestions and comments are very welcome!

Nice game.  I don't see any reason to feel guilty for consulting a book.  He's got the game explorer and any books on his shelf available to him as well.  If you're concerned about such things might as well discuss terms before the game.

Nice game, white played the opening poorly and after 8 moves, white has no stake in the center and no pieces developed, and it was no surprise that his position quickly collapsed.

hmm, I dont consult books when I play here. If you were in a tournament would you be allowed to consult a book? It's a crutch you shouldn't rely on.  However nice game.

Btw 12. Qe2 much better than 0-0

Great find, Phelan! Of course, that would have saved the knight! 12.Qe2 O-O or O-O-O 13.Nfd2 saves the knight. Brilliant find!
