I'm kinda proud of this game!

I did a really neat combo attack at move fifteen that destroyed him and topped it off with a nice check mate. I'm sure to the masters and such this game is like a kid showing off his coloring book as a work of art, but to me anyway, it is something t be proud off. even if one day I look back on it as a silly coloring book. LOL! enjoy! (I'm black)

oh and feel free to stroke my ego with praise and enhance my skills with criticism.

Humness

nice game but it all depends on how good was this friend of yours...

rationalredneck

I'm just proud I saw that combo.

I have little doubt had it been a expert player, I wouldn't have even got the chance to do any combos except being on the receiving end of them.

cena_warrior

to be honest, i don't think move 15 was the factor.. your friend was already blundering before that.. you just took advantage of his/her mistakes.. i'm not that good a player, but this game looks plain to me..

Skeith

i agree with cena_warrior, ur opponent was just messing up and you found a particular hole and expertly exploited it, ill give you kudos for being efficient, but it wasnt anything spectacular

rationalredneck

LOL! you guys are like a bunch of folks seeing a kid say his first words and saying, pu-lease, I've talked all my life, so what, you can say da-da now. Tongue out

hey I'm proud of it. even if eventually after this website improves my game I'll be looking back and snickering myself.

Loomis

It's always nice to win, even when the opponent is trying to lose.

EnamouredKnight

after seeing that your friend allowed a Qh4+ and lost his rights to castle i didnt take the game too seriously, sry (the rest of the game wasnt all that bad but as the guy said "It's always nice to win, even when the opponent is trying to lose.") ((((:

chessowns

@ GregDTX

Actually I should post some games I've lost and get tips. For all I know there's a few blunders in the above game that would have gotten me spanked by an expert. Feel free to point those out to me as well.

As I said in my first post on this thread, Many experts will see this game as akin to a kid showing off his coloring book. So many of the comments above were expected and I take no offense from them. (though it does in a way make me think of a kid saying da-da and a person saying "oh please, I can say whole sentences!") but who knows, maybe I'll be saying the same things when I am whipped into shape.

if you look at my profile you will see I've lost two games already. tonight I'll see about posting them along with what was going through my head and then see what the experts have to say to coach me.

though I ask for criticism mixed with praise. (tell me what I did wrong but also what I did right.)

I should say my elo is not right. the guy I'm playing used to be in a club and is new here himself. so because he had a 1200 elo starting, mine got shot down. I would bet I'm in the 1200, 1300 range. though I've never been in a club to say for sure, but I'm hardly a total novice. well that is unless you compare me to club players who memorize openings and such.

kjt

I'm not great either, but I'd say it looks like you're getting your fundamentals put together. You're going for center control right away, you know the comparative value of the pieces, and you're using them as a team.

The others do have a point in that your opponent made a number of bad decisions, but you did well to stay focused on the prize. Keep it up, and most of all, enjoy the game!

Good game!

As to comments 3...Bb4 is an interesting try, if 4.Bd2 or 4. Nd2 than 4...Qh4 mate. And if 4. c3 than still 4...Qh4 5.Kd2 Bc5 (or Be7) gives black great game.

Plus 14...Nd4 wins the Queen (15.Qe1 Nf3) or its mate (15. Qd1 Qe3).
